sandbox

What is it with little boys and dirt? Nicholas love to come visiting teaching with me to his friend "carisson"(harrison)'s house because they have a sand box in the back yard, and he gets to play in it. we went on tuesday, and that night in his prayers he thanked heavenly father for harison's house. yesterday he ran into the kitchen where i was washing the dishes and he very excitedly told me "I'm playing in the sandbox!" i gave him the response i always give when i don't know what he's talking about-"you are! that's great" and then went on washing the dishes. It was about that time i heard sam yelling in our bedroom. nicholas had found the huge sam's club sized box of tide in our closet, and had made a sandbox out of it. we had laundry soap all over the place!

vacation to the biltmore estate

we went to asheville, NC the 12th-13th of this month. it was a short trip, but a fun one. we went to the biltmore estate- the largest mansion in the us. it was incredible. the man who built it started it when he was my age. he inherited a bunch of money from his grandfather- the vanderbilt family- they had alot to do with the railroad. anyway we saw his big exspensive house, and hey if you have the money to build your self a castle, why not?

nicholas's favorite part of the hotel was the hot tub. the pool was too cold for him, so he played in the hot tub. his favorite part was that he could splash all he wanted, and he didn't get in trouble for it!

we took a trip to asheville, nc this week to see the biltmore estate. i will be posting stories and pictures in the next couple of days- when ever my 2 crazy kids give me a chance!

"Peas Please!"

For dinner we had steak, peas and potato wedges. Nicholas scarfed his peas in a matter of seconds, and demanded more. we told him that he had to eat some meat and fries first- (you would think that a kid would down the fries, and complain about the peas). He yelled "Please Peas!" We told him again to eat some meat and fries and then we would give him more. Sam left the table to refill the water picture and while he was gone Nicholas quickly stole several handfulls of peas off of his plate and put them on his own plate. He ended up eating almost all of sam's peas.

Nicholas is a great helper. He likes to help wash the dishes, open the car doors, feed the baby( That one I don't appriciate because christian can't eat fruit snacks yet!)put away the groceries, clean the walls, and cook dinner. His favorite is making pizza. He loves spreding flour on the counter for te dough, dropping spoonfuls of sauce on it, and he really loves to put on the toppings. He takes a bite of each one as he does it!
