All the Doggies...

Usually parents see it as a good thing when their kids are not afraid of dogs. Fortunately Nicholas is not afraid of dogs, especially since it seemed like everywhere we went in Utah people had dogs. Unfortunately he is also allergic to them and he breaks out in hives every time he touches one. Now the problem is that he isn't only not afraid of dogs, he is In LOVE with them. We never could keep him from playing with them no matter how bad they made him itch. It really is sad. It's like being allergic to chocolate or something! Here are some pix of his favorite dogs.
This is my brother's new little puppy. Nicholas just couldn't get enough of her!

My cousin's pug. Nicholas ran this poor little dog into the ground. She was on a leash and he ran her all over the backyard at the 4th of july BBQ. She kept having to take breaks because she just couldn't keep up with my crazy kid! He adored her!

4th of July

Probably one of my favorite holidays, July 4th. I love parades, I love big family BBQs, I love fireworks, I love being festive, and you get to do all that in one day! As a kid July 4th was just as exciting a Christmas. I was hardly able to sleep the night before because I was so excited about the festivities. My family has been going to the big parade in Provo just about every year since before I can remember. I loved being there with my 2 boys this year and watching them love it like I did as a kid.

Kara's Wedding

One of the main reasons we went to Utah this summer was for Sam's sister's wedding. I was great to be there with all the family. I think that one of the hardest part about living on the opposite side of the country from your family is missing out on everything. Don't get me wrong, I really do love life in North Carolina, and there is a lot I would miss here if we were there. 2 years ago while I was pregnant with Christian, Sam's 2 brothers and one of my sisters got married all within a few months of each other, and I had to miss them all. So for me it was fun to actually be there for this one, and actually meet my new brother-in-law, Devin before they got married and not like a year later! The wedding was beautiful and Kara looked gorgeous-(Devin is a lucky guy), and I think they make an adorable couple. I'm so glad I got to go to it all. I had a great time getting to know Devin and my other sisters-in-law better, and I wish we could all get together more often. Maybe someday we'll all live closer, I hope so!

So it's been a while...

When we got home from Utah, Sam had switched computers on me, and had taken our computer to school and brought home his school computer. Since the computer he brought home was a windows and the one he took to school was a Mac, I had to learn how to do everything on windows, and I'm still not entirely sure how to get pictures from my camera to my blog, so I just haven't bothered to post anything. A lot has happened since my last post, so I may not bother to post it all but I'll try to do what I can.
